Indian folk designs, distinguished by their simplicity and whimsical nature, have developed over thousands of years. Reflecting the great diversity of one of the world's oldest traditions in decorative art, this present collection includes approximately 200 designs, newly adapted by Mrs. Lehri from authentic Indian art and artifacts and meticulously rendered for direct, permission-free use by designers, commercial artists and craftworkers. The striking designs, organized according to geographical areas, depict abstract shell and heart-shaped motifs from Bengal, dancing stick figures and human forms playing musical instruments from Maharashtra, simple geometrical border patterns from Rajasthan, as well as an elegantly outfitted elephant, a variety of remarkable flora and fauna, including peacocks, cows, birds, sea life, and much more. A perfect source of artistic inspiration, these authentic patterns and motifs can be adapted for use in textiles, on wallpaper, furniture and walls, and a host other decorative projects.
