Summary: Ray and Ken, two foul-mouthed Irish hit men, are hiding out in Bruges, Belgium. For Ray, Bruges is a place where you can spend a year in a weekend, while Ken finds the ancient town calming and contemplative. Ken and Ray work for Harry, a crime lord who eventually materializes in Bruges, and ends up proving that even professional hitmen have their feelings. A loopy, violent fable that is part thriller, part spoof, with a dash of dark comedy, leavened with intellectual conceits and religious allegory--but in no way is "In Bruges" long, boring, or slow.
